ocsinventory-agent software package provides Hardware and software inventory tool (client), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ocsinventory-agent
ocsinventory-agent is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ocsinventory-agent package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ocsinventory-agent *
You will get with ocsinventory-agent package name, version, architecture and description in a table
